of <h1>DGFT Implements ITC (HS) 2022: Import Ban on Drones Except for Specific Uses; Drone Parts Import Remains Free.</h1> The notification from the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) announces the implementation of the Indian Trade Classification (Harmonised System) 2022 (ITC (HS) 2022) in alignment with the Finance Act 2021. The import policy for drones is updated, prohibiting the import of drones in Completely-Built-Up (CBU), Semi-knocked-down (SKD), or Completely-Knocked-down (CKD) forms, except for government, educational, R&D, and defense purposes, which require authorization. Import of drone components is free. The notification includes amendments to various chapters and sections of the ITC (HS) codes, detailing changes in policy conditions, item descriptions, and import restrictions.
