of <h1>Compulsory Registration Required for Steel Imports Under SIMS for ITC (HS) Chapters 72, 73, and 86.</h1> The notification mandates compulsory registration under the Steel Import Monitoring System (SIMS) for imports under all Harmonized System (HS) codes in Chapters 72, 73, and 86 of the ITC (HS), 2017. This policy condition is added to the import policy of these chapters, changing the status from 'Free' to 'Free subject to compulsory registration.' This amendment is enacted under the powers granted by the FT (D&R) Act, 1992, and the Foreign Trade Policy, 2015-2020. The directive is issued with the approval of the Minister of Commerce & Industry.
