of <h1>New Customs Regulations Require Additional Equipment for Cargo Handling Efficiency and Security in 2019 Amendment.</h1> The Handling of Cargo in Customs Areas (Amendment) Regulations, 2019, issued by the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs, amends the 2009 regulations. Effective from April 1, 2019, the amendment modifies regulation 5, sub-regulation (1), clause (i), sub-clause (o). The new sub-clause allows the Board or relevant Customs Commissioner to specify additional equipment or facilities necessary for the screening, examination, custody, and handling of imported or exported goods in customs areas. This amendment aims to enhance the efficiency and security of cargo handling in customs zones.
