Government Extends Mahavir Heart Research Scheme u/s 35AC for Three Years; No Certificate for 2011-12.

The Central Government has extended the notification of the scheme by Mahavir Heart Research Foundation, Mumbai, under section 35AC of the Income-tax Act, 1961. This scheme includes detection, prevention research and education, diagnosis, curing, and operation for heart patients, as well as maintaining Atithi Griha. Initially notified in 1996, the project has received multiple extensions and is now extended for a further three years starting from the financial year 2011-12 to 2013-14. However, no certificate under section 35AC will be issued for the financial year 2011-12 as it has already lapsed.
