<h1>Definition of 'Court' under Companies Act 2013: High Court, District Court, Special Court (Section 435), or Magistrate for company law offences.</h1> Under the Companies Act 2013, 'court' is defined as the High Court with jurisdiction over the location of a company's registered office, unless jurisdiction is assigned to a district court. A district court may have jurisdiction if empowered by the Central Government. The term also includes the Court of Session for company law offences, the Special Court under section 435, and any Metropolitan Magistrate or Judicial Magistrate of the First Class with jurisdiction over offences under this Act or previous company laws.
