of <h1>Port customs withdraws mandatory sampling and live-consignment testing for parboiled and non-basmati white rice; follow risk procedures.</h1> The port customs authority withdraws the prior mandatory sampling and live-consignment testing requirement for shipments of parboiled and non-basmati white rice following recent tariff and export-policy relaxations, including removal of export duty and lifting of export prohibitions and minimum export price. Consequently, drawing of samples at docks for all rice shipping bills is no longer required, but risk management system procedures must be followed for each consignment; any discrepancies must be reported to the designated export customs officials immediately. Implementation difficulties should be reported to the head of the port customs commissionerate.
