of <h1>Regulator allows AGMs/EGMs via video and postal ballot under prior circulars but Companies Act, 2013 timelines still apply</h1> The regulator permits companies to hold AGMs and EGMs through video conferencing or other audiovisual means, and to transact EGM items by postal ballot, pursuant to earlier circular frameworks, until further orders; all prior circular requirements remain applicable. This clarification does not extend statutory deadlines for holding AGMs under the Companies Act, 2013, and companies failing to meet statutory timelines remain subject to legal action under the Act. The direction is issued with competent authority approval.
