Customs officers are instructed to verify BIS registration and randomly sample LED products for compliance testing at BIS-recognized labs. Non-compliant goods may be returned or destroyed at the importer's expense. These measures aim to ensure compliance with the 'Electronics and Information Technology Goods (Requirement of Compulsory Registration) Order, 2012.' The circular also authorizes customs to handle non-compliant goods as scrap if necessary.
