of <h1>DGFT to Deactivate IECs Not Updated Since 2005; Last Chance to Update by October 5, 2021.</h1> The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) has announced the deactivation of Importer Exporter Codes (IECs) that have not been updated electronically since January 1, 2005. IEC holders were previously given extensions to update their details until August 31, 2021. Deactivation will begin on October 6, 2021, with a final opportunity to update by October 5, 2021. IECs pending approval are exempt from deactivation. Deactivated IECs can be reactivated automatically online without visiting DGFT offices by updating the information on the DGFT website. This notice has been approved by the competent authority.
