Power to Enter and Seize: authority to inspect, search and seize goods, documents and conveyances with evidentiary presumptions. Rule 15 authorises an authorised person to enter, inspect, search and seize imported goods, books, documents or things relevant to proceedings; to prohibit removal when seizure is impracticable; to permit copies of seized documents in the authorised person's presence; to allow objections to retention to be made to the Central Government with a hearing; to return seized goods if no notice is given within six months (extendable by the Director General); and to stop, search and seize conveyances used for transporting liable goods.
