of <h1>Former Partner Can Compete with Firm, Advertise Business; Restrictions Valid if Reasonable per Indian Contract Act, 1872.</h1> An outgoing partner is permitted to operate a business that competes with their former firm and may advertise it, provided they do not use the firm's name, misrepresent their association with the firm, or solicit former clients, unless otherwise agreed. A partner can agree with other partners to refrain from engaging in similar business activities within a certain timeframe or geographic area after leaving the partnership. Such agreements are valid under the Indian Contract Act, 1872, as long as the restrictions are reasonable.
