of <h1>Constitution (51st Amendment) Act Reserves Lok Sabha Seats for Scheduled Tribes Except Those in Assam's Autonomous Districts</h1> The Constitution (51st Amendment) Act, 1984 modifies Article 330(1)(b) to reserve seats in the House of the People for 'the Scheduled Tribes except the Scheduled Tribes in the autonomous districts of Assam.' This amendment will not affect existing representation until the dissolution of the House of the People that existed when the Act commenced. The amendment came into force on June 16, 1986, as notified through G.S.R. 871(E).
