Commencement power enables central government to notify when a constitutional amendment comes into force under the Sixty ninth Amendment Act. The Act names itself the Constitution (Sixty ninth Amendment) Act, 1991 and vests power in the Central Government to appoint, by notification in the Official Gazette, the date on which the Act shall come into force; an administrative note records commencement effective from the first day of February, 1992.
