<h1>Finance Act 2023 amends Section 269T, raising cash transaction limit to 2 lakh for specific cooperative banks.</h1> Section 269T of the Income-tax Act has been amended by the Finance Act, 2023. The amendment increases the threshold for cash transactions from 'twenty thousand rupees' to 'two lakh rupees' for deposits or loans involving primary agricultural credit societies or primary co-operative agricultural and rural development banks and their members. Additionally, the definition of 'co-operative bank,' 'primary agricultural credit society,' and 'primary co-operative agricultural and rural development bank' is updated to align with the Explanation in sub-section (4) of section 80P.
