Appellate Board jurisdiction governs appeals from Controller decisions and directs rectification and grant procedures for patents.

The Act designates the Appellate Board as the primary appellate forum for patent matters with prescribed composition, rulemaking powers, and authority to receive transfers from High Courts. It provides that the Board may order grant of a patent to a true inventor when a patent is revoked or claims excluded for wrongful obtaining, allows amendment of specifications in revocation proceedings with publication and fraud-limited challenge rights, entrusts the Board with power to rectify the register subject to Controller notice and implementation, and imposes confidentiality obligations on patent office staff.
