of <h1>Finance Act 2019 amends PMLA Section 8, extending investigation period from 90 to 365 days.</h1> Section 8 of the Prevention of Money-laundering Act, 2002, is amended by the Finance Act, 2019. The amendment extends the period mentioned in sub-section (3), clause (a), from ninety days to three hundred and sixty-five days. Additionally, an explanation is added to clarify that any period during which an investigation is stayed by a court will not be counted within the three hundred and sixty-five days. This amendment will take effect from a date specified by the Central Government through a notification in the Official Gazette.
