Instrument definition expanded to include electronic and securities-related documents, and new definitions for securities and depositories introduced. The amendments broaden the Act's definitional framework: 'instrument' is expanded to include electronic documents and documents created for transactions in stock exchanges or depositories; 'securities' is widened to include statutory securities definitions, derivatives, specified short term debt instruments and other government notified instruments; and 'debenture' and related debt instruments are expressly included. The Bill also inserts definitions for allotment list, banker, depository, clearance list, clearing corporation, issuer, marketable security, market value and stock exchange.
