of <h1>Economically Weaker Sections Get 10% Reservation Under Article 16(6) of Constitution Through 103rd Amendment Act</h1> The 103rd Amendment Act of 2019 inserted clause (6) to Article 16 of the Constitution, enabling the State to provide up to 10% reservation in appointments or posts for economically weaker sections (EWS) of citizens. This reservation is separate from and additional to existing reservations, and specifically excludes classes already mentioned in clause (4). The amendment came into force on January 14, 2019.
