Power of a Bench allocates disposal of settlement applications under the Chairman's general or special directions. Power of a Bench authorises a Bench to dispose of settlement applications and matters arising therefrom as directed by the Chairman, by either general order or special order, thereby vesting the Chairman with procedural control to allocate and manage cases under the Customs and Central Excise Settlement Commission Procedure, 2007.
