Search and seizure authorization procedure: standardized seizure memo records authorisation, witnesses, inventory and required signatures. Form II sets out the format for a seizure or freezing memo under the Prevention of Money Laundering Rules, 2005: it records an authorisation under section 17, identifies the authorised officer and panch witnesses, notes start and end times, whether a personal search occurred, and directs preparation of an inventory (Schedule) of items recovered, seized or frozen. Each page must be signed and dated by panch witnesses, the person searched and the authority, and the memo must bear the authority's seal and signature.
