of <h1>Impounded records under Section 50 of the Prevention of Money-Laundering Act need Director's approval for retention beyond three months.</h1> Any records impounded under sub-section (5) of section 50 of the Prevention of Money-Laundering Act may be retained by the impounding authority. However, if the impounding authority is a Deputy Director or an Assistant Director, they cannot retain such records for more than three months without prior written approval from the Director.
