Contractor licensing for supply or engagement of contract labour requires authorised licences and may include work-specific electronic licences.

Section 47 requires contractors supplying or engaging contract labour to obtain a licence from the authority designated under section 119 after meeting prescribed qualifications; licences must state the number of contract labourers and security amount. If qualifications are unmet, the authority may grant an electronically renewable work specific licence limited to the specified work order. Licences may impose conditions on hours, wages and amenities as prescribed by the appropriate Government, and Central-designated licences for multi-State or national operation require electronic consultation with concerned State authorities.
