of <h1>Road and Infrastructure Cess on Petrol and Diesel Raised to Rs. 9/Litre in 2019-20 Budget.</h1> The Finance (No. 2) Bill, 2019, introduced a change in the Road and Infrastructure Cess on petrol and diesel as part of the 2019-20 budget. The effective rate of this cess, which is levied as an additional duty of customs, increased from Rs. 8 per litre to Rs. 9 per litre for both motor spirit, commonly known as petrol, and high-speed diesel oil.
