<h1>India Lifts Cement Export Ban for IDEB Projects to Maldives; 41,100 Bags Approved Under Bilateral Pact</h1> The Government of India has amended the ITC(HS) Classifications of Export and Import Items, partially lifting the ban on cement exports. The amendment allows M/s IDEB Projects (P) Limited to export 41,100 bags of cement from Tuticorin Port to the Maldives for a construction project under a bilateral agreement. The export schedule is set for November 2008 to February 2009. Previously, cement exports were prohibited, except for supplies to Special Economic Zones and exports to Nepal and from Gujarat ports. This amendment is issued in public interest by the Director General of Foreign Trade.
