<h1>New Exchange Rates for Foreign Currencies in India Announced by CBEC, Effective May 1, 2008</h1> Notification No. 39/2008 issued by the Central Board of Excise and Customs, under the Ministry of Finance, Department of Revenue, establishes the exchange rates for converting specified foreign currencies into Indian rupees for imported and exported goods. Effective from May 1, 2008, the rates are detailed in two schedules. Schedule I lists rates for individual units of currencies like the Australian Dollar, Canadian Dollar, Euro, and US Dollar, while Schedule II provides rates for 100 units of the Japanese Yen. This notification supersedes the previous notification No. 32/2008 dated March 27, 2008.
