of <h1>'Kanoli-vision Saver' Eye Camps Tax Exemption Extended u/s 35AC; Project Cost Increased to Rs. 300 Lakhs.</h1> The Central Government has extended the eligibility of the 'Kanoli-vision Saver' Eye Camps, a rural outreach eye care program by Sri Sankara Health Centre near Chennai, for tax exemption under Section 35AC of the Income-tax Act, 1961. Initially specified in 1997 and extended in 2000 and 2002, the project is now approved for an additional three years starting from the financial year 2004-2005. The estimated project cost has been increased from Rs. 90 lakhs to Rs. 300 lakhs, following recommendations from the National Committee for Promotion of Social and Economic Welfare.
