of <h1>Helpage India's Medical Care Project for Elderly, Leprosy, and Cancer Patients Extended Under Section 35AC, Funding Increased</h1> The Central Government has amended the notification under section 35AC of the Income-tax Act, 1961, concerning a project by Helpage India for medical care to elderly, leprosy, and cancer patients. Initially specified in 1993, the project was extended multiple times and has now been approved for an additional three years starting from the financial year 2004-2005. The maximum project cost has been increased from Rs. 4000 lakhs to Rs. 6500 lakhs, following recommendations by the National Committee for the Promotion of Social and Economic Welfare, due to the project's continued execution and anticipated extension beyond eleven years.
