Initially approved in 2001, the project aimed to build shelters, wells, and lavatories, with an estimated cost increased from Rs. 55 lakhs to Rs. 130 lakhs in 2003. The project is now extended for another three years starting from the financial year 2006-07, with the cost further amended to Rs. 200 lakhs, following recommendations by the National Committee for Promotion of Social and Economic Welfare.
