of <h1>Rehabilitation and Education Project for the Blind in Gujarat Extended Under Section 35AC; Funding Increased to Rs. 1.22 Crores.</h1> The Central Government has extended the eligibility of the Rehabilitation and Education project for the blind in Gujarat, managed by the National Association for Blind (Gujarat State Branch), as specified under section 35AC of the Income-tax Act, 1961. Initially recognized in 1997, the project received extensions in 2000 and 2002. It is now further extended for two years starting from the financial year 2006-07. Additionally, the project's cost allowance has been amended from Rs. 54.45 lakhs to Rs. 1.22 crores, as recommended by the National Committee for Promotion of Social and Economic Welfare.
