Special Education Centers for Spastic Children in Tamil Nadu Approved u/s 35AC of Income-tax Act.

The Central Government has specified the project for equipment, furnishing, and operation of special education centers for spastic children at urban centers in Tamil Nadu by The Spastics Society of Tamil Nadu as an eligible scheme under Section 35AC of the Income-tax Act, 1961. Initially approved in 1997, the project has undergone extensions and cost revisions, with the estimated cost increased to Rs. 126.52 lakhs. The project is recognized for a further three-year period starting from the financial year 2005-2006, following a recommendation by the National Committee for Promotion of Social and Economic Welfare.
