of <h1>Central Government Extends Spastic Society Project in Tamil Nadu, Increases Funding to Rs. 126.52 Lakhs for Special Education</h1> The Central Government has extended the eligibility of the project by The Spastic Society of Tamil Nadu for equipment, furnishing, and running special education centers for spastic children in urban centers of Tamil Nadu. Initially approved for two years starting in the 1998-99 assessment year and extended for three more years from 2000-2001, the project is now further extended for three years beginning with the 2003-2004 assessment year. The project cost has been amended from Rs. 65.67 lakhs to Rs. 126.52 lakhs, following a recommendation by the National Committee.
