India Imposes Final Anti-Dumping Duty on Polyester Yarn from Taiwan, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia to Protect Domestic Industry
The Central Government of India has imposed a final anti-dumping duty on Partially Oriented Yarn (POY) of polyesters imported from Taiwan, Thailand, Indonesia, and Malaysia. This decision follows findings that exporters from these countries have been selling the yarn below normal value, causing material injury to the Indian industry. The duty, specified per exporter, ranges from $0.037 to $0.593 per kilogram and is applicable from April 12, 2001, until April 11, 2007. The rate of exchange for calculating this duty will be based on the date of the bill of entry presentation under the Customs Act.
