of <h1>Safeguard Duty Imposed on Flexible Slabstock Polyol Imports; 16.5% Until Dec 1999, Then 5% Until June 2000</h1> This notification, effective December 24, 1998, imposes a safeguard duty on imports of Flexible Slabstock Polyol with a molecular weight of 3000-4000, used in manufacturing slabstock foam and polyurethane foam mattresses. The duty rate is 16.5% until December 23, 1999, and 5% from December 24, 1999, to June 23, 2000. Exemptions apply to imports under Advance Licences and from developing countries, excluding Singapore. The measure aims to protect domestic industry from injury due to increased imports, as determined by the Director General (Safeguards).
