India Imposes Anti-Dumping Duty on Velcro Tapes from China, Chinese Taipei Until 2011 Under Customs Tariff Act Chapter 58
The Central Government of India has imposed an anti-dumping duty on narrow woven fabrics with pile weave made from manmade fibers, commonly known as hook and loop fasteners or Velcro tapes. These goods, classified under Chapter 58 of the Customs Tariff Act, 1975, are imported from China and Chinese Taipei. The duty is based on findings that these products were sold in India below normal value, causing material injury to the domestic industry. The duty, effective from February 14, 2005, will be calculated as the difference between the specified reference price and the landed value of the goods, and will remain in force until February 13, 2011.
