India Extends Anti-Dumping Duties on Fastening Tapes from China and Taiwan to Protect Domestic Industries Until 2011.
The Government of India, through the Ministry of Finance, has announced the continuation of anti-dumping duties on imports of narrow woven fabrics with pile weave made from manmade fibers, used as fastening tapes, originating from the People's Republic of China and Chinese Taipei. This follows a review initiated by the designated authority under the Customs Tariff Act, 1975. The anti-dumping duty, originally imposed in 2005, is extended to remain in force until February 13, 2011, unless revoked earlier. This measure aims to protect domestic industries from unfair pricing practices by foreign exporters.
