Modification of Companies Act applicability: Central Government replaces Registrar and may approve alternative register locations for government companies. The Central Government directs that specified provisions of the Companies Act shall apply to government companies with modifications: substituting the Central Government for the Registrar in certain register procedures; permitting registers or records to be kept at other places subject to Central Government approval; and omitting certain references to the Registrar or a shareholder in a procedural subsection, thereby tailoring statutory applicability to government companies.
