<h1>India Expands Duty-Free Tariff Preferences to Maldives, Bangladesh, and Burundi Under Notification No. 64/2010-Customs.</h1> The Government of India, through the Ministry of Finance, has issued Notification No. 64/2010-Customs, amending the previous Notification No. 96/2008-Customs. This amendment, effective from May 14, 2010, adds Maldives, Bangladesh, and the Republic of Burundi to the list of countries eligible for duty-free tariff preferences under the customs tariff for Least Developed Countries. This change is made under the powers conferred by the Customs Act, 1962, and is deemed necessary in the public interest. The principal notification was initially published on August 13, 2008, and was last amended on May 13, 2010.
