India Imposes Anti-Dumping Duty on Russian PTFE Imports to Protect Domestic Market under Customs Tariff Act, 1975
The Central Government of India has imposed an anti-dumping duty on Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) originating from or exported by Russian producers, including JSC Halogen and others. This decision follows findings by the Designated Authority that PTFE was being dumped in India at below-normal value, causing injury to the domestic industry. The duty, set at 5200 Rupees per metric tonne, is applied under the Customs Tariff Act, 1975, effective from June 30, 1999, to protect the Indian market from unfair trade practices and support local manufacturers.
