This project involves purchasing equipment to increase the number of surgeries and running a hospital. Initially notified in 2000, the project was extended in 2003 and 2007. The National Committee for Promotion of Social and Economic Welfare has recommended another three-year extension, now covering the financial years 2009-2010, 2010-2011, and 2011-2012, with an approved cost of Rs. 437.50 lakh, including a corpus fund of Rs. 150.00 lakh.
