of <h1>Amendment to Customs Notification Adds Benin, Myanmar, Malawi, Eritrea to Duty-Free Tariff Preferences for Least Developed Countries</h1> The Central Government has amended the notification No. 96/2008-Customs, dated August 13, 2008, concerning duty-free tariff preferences for Least Developed Countries. Under the powers of the Customs Act, 1962, the amendment, effective from January 19, 2009, adds the Republic of Benin, Union of Myanmar, Malawi, and the State of Eritrea to the list of countries benefiting from these preferences. This decision was made in the public interest and is documented under notification No. 7/2009-Customs, published in the Gazette of India.
