of <h1>Post Office Monthly Income Account deposits after 1 July 2017 set to earn 7.5% interest u/r 8(1) amendment (1)</h1> Rule 8(1) of the Post Office (Monthly Income Account) Rules, 1987 is amended to prescribe an interest rate of 7.5% per annum for deposits made on or after 1 July 2017. This rate applies prospectively to qualifying deposits from that date and determines the annual interest payable under the Monthly Income Account scheme for such deposits.
