of <h1>Post Office monthly income account interest payouts shift to automatic savings-account credit; Rule 8(3) updated, Rule 6 removed</h1> Rule 6 of the Post Office Monthly Income Account Rules, 1987 is omitted, thereby removing the regulatory provision previously governing that subject matter. Rule 8(3) is amended by inserting a proviso permitting, where the monthly income account is maintained at a post office operating on the Core Banking platform and the depositor has so authorised, automatic monthly credit of interest by the post office to the depositor's savings account maintained at any such post office or at any branch of a bank, enabling interest payments through credit transfer rather than requiring receipt at the account-holding post office.
