New tariff values set for edible oils, metals and areca nuts u/s 14(2) of Customs Act
The notification, issued under section 14(2) of the Customs Act, 1962, amends Notification No. 36/2001-Customs (N.T.) by substituting Tables 1, 2 and 3 to specify tariff values for certain imported goods. It fixes tariff values in US dollars for various edible oils (including crude and refined palm oil, palmolein, and crude soybean oil), brass scrap (all grades), areca nuts, and for gold and silver in specified forms and conditions, largely maintaining existing values. These tariff values apply per metric tonne, per 10 grams (for gold), or per kilogram (for silver) as detailed, and the changes take effect from 12 December 2025.
