<h1>New IBBI Regulation 7B Caps Insolvency Professionals' Assignments and Tightens Code of Conduct Approvals Requirements</h1> The Insolvency and Bankruptcy Board of India issues the Insolvency Professionals (Second Amendment) Regulations, 2025, effective from publication in the Official Gazette. A new regulation 7B caps the number of assignments an individual insolvency professional (who is not an insolvency professional entity) may hold at any time to ten in aggregate as interim resolution professional, resolution professional, and liquidator, with no more than three assignments involving admitted claims exceeding INR 1,000 crore each. Professionals already exceeding these limits on commencement cannot accept new assignments until their ongoing matters fall below the cap. Further, clause 6 of the Code of Conduct now requires prior approval of the Adjudicating Authority, and the clarification to clause 22 is omitted.
