of <h1>Govt restricts exports of denatured ethyl alcohol (ITC(HS) 22072000); permits 2G ethanol with Export Authorisation and IS 15464 feedstock certification</h1> The Central Government amends the Foreign Trade Policy to add an export policy condition for ITC(HS) code 22072000 (denatured ethyl alcohol), classifying Second Generation (2G) ethanol as Restricted. 2G ethanol-produced from cellulosic, lignocellulosic and other non-food/residual feedstocks meeting IS 15464 and exhibiting low CO2/high GHG reduction-is permitted for fuel and non-fuel exports only with a valid Export Authorisation and feedstock certification from the competent authority. The amendment takes effect immediately.
