of <h1>Central Government Notifies 52.2-Hectare Multi-Sector SEZ Under SEZ Act, 2005 with Inland Container Depot Status</h1> The Central Government has notified a 52.2065-hectare area in a village within Ranipet District, Tamil Nadu, as a Special Economic Zone (SEZ) under the Special Economic Zones Act, 2005. Approval was granted for the development, operation, and maintenance of this multi-sector SEZ. An Approval Committee has been constituted, comprising government officials from various departments including commerce, customs, income tax, finance, and representatives nominated by the State Government and the SEZ developer. The notified SEZ area is also designated as an Inland Container Depot under the Customs Act, 1962, effective from December 21, 2023. This notification formalizes the establishment and governance structure of the SEZ for facilitating industrial and commercial activities within the specified land parcels.
