of <h1>India Bans Onion Exports Under HS Code 0703 10 19 Until March 31, 2024; Exceptions Apply for Certain Shipments.</h1> The Government of India has amended the export policy for onions under HS Code 0703 10 19, changing the status from 'Free' to 'Prohibited' until March 31, 2024. This amendment, effective December 8, 2023, includes a Minimum Export Price (MEP) of US $800 per Metric Ton until December 31, 2023. Exceptions are made for consignments already in process before the notification, with export allowed until January 5, 2024. Additionally, exports may be permitted based on requests from foreign governments. The transitional arrangements under the Foreign Trade Policy, 2023, do not apply to this notification.
