<h1>SEBI Amends 2018 Settlement Regulations: New Sub-Regulation 23(2A) Grants Panel Authority for Settlement Terms Approval.</h1> The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) has issued the Second Amendment to the Settlement Proceedings Regulations, 2023, effective from January 17, 2023. This amendment modifies the 2018 regulations by adding a new sub-regulation (2A) to regulation 23. It authorizes the Panel of Whole Time Members to dispose of specified proceedings based on approved settlement terms. The original Settlement Proceedings Regulations were enacted in 2018 and have been amended in 2020, 2022, and earlier in 2023 to refine the regulatory framework governing settlement proceedings.
