Customs and Excise Officers Authorized to Enforce Sections 6 and 7 of the Foreign Exchange Management Act 1999.

The Central Government authorizes officers of the Customs and Central Excise, with a minimum rank of Deputy Commissioner, and officers of the Directorate General of Revenue Intelligence, with a minimum rank of Deputy Director, to exercise powers under the Foreign Exchange Management Act, 1999. This authorization pertains to contraventions specified in clause (g) of sub-section (3) of section 6 and clause (a) of sub-section (1) of section 7 of the Act, in accordance with section 38(1). This order was issued by the Ministry of Finance on December 26, 2000.
