India Amends Apple Import Policy: Prohibits Imports Below Rs. 50/kg, Excludes Bhutan from Restrictions under ITC (HS) 08081000.
The Central Government has amended the import policy for apples under ITC (HS) 08081000. Previously, the import of apples was unrestricted, but it is now prohibited if the Cost, Insurance, and Freight (CIF) import price is less than or equal to Rs. 50 per kilogram. However, this restriction does not apply to imports from Bhutan, which remain exempt from the Minimum Import Price (MIP) conditions. This amendment was issued with the approval of the Minister of Commerce & Industry.
